Hurry Up and Wait

It's been one of those days! I have been waiting on the TV repairman all day (again) and he still isn't here! AAAAARRRGH. Apparently there was a "miscommunication". I heard "between 8AM and Noon" and they are saying no, it was "between 8AM and 5PM." Oh, well, got lots of sewing done. DH wanted a pocket cut off an old pair of jeans and sewn onto an also-old pair of jeans and a patch near the ankles. Wouldn't it be easier to just go buy a NEW pair??? But, no, these are his "favorite" work jeans. Okay, that's done. Got the blocks and rows sewn together for Birds and Roses (working title) and this is a photo BB (before borders). I can't seem to get a good shot of the true colors. I'm thinking about borders now. It's so fun to have a quick and easy quilt in between the Storms At Sea and the NY Beauties (a w-a-a-y old UFO) and the Block-Of-The-Month projects. Something you can actually see coming together in a few days! Hurray for Quick and Easy, I say.

It looks terrific there on the bed. Some prints just do not photograph well---like that plaid in the one I just showed on my blog recently looks gray---it isn't so perhaps that is the same problem with this one.

Hurrah for the quick and easy quilts that let us still sew but without the getting bogged down doing it.

I agree with Linda - hurrah for the quick and easy quilts. Instant gratification and we really need that.

It's a very pretty quilt and looks wonderful on the bed.

Not only is it instant gratification, but then there is something tangible to give to either a loved one, friend or someone in need. There's nothing better than a warm, cozy, beautiful quilt. It's like being physically there to give them a hug. /paula

gotta love how a service industry thinks telling us what DAY they'll appear is service... Hope it eventually all works out.

Very pretty quilt...quick and easy quilts are very wonderful things. We need a break from the more complicated things. I think that keeps us motivated...a little instant gratification and then we can go back to the more difficult, labor intensive pieces.

This looks great - even if the TV guy was late or no show. =)

I do so love the way rail fence gives you those two zig zag lines - never fails to please me no matter how many times I see the pattern made up in whatever choice of fabrics

I made one of these directional rail fences out of kiddie fabric and donated it. I thought it was really cute and it did go together fast.
