Eeeekkk!

Headed upstairs to the "Quilt Studio" to start on block 12 of the lucky auction quilt this morning. EEEEEKKKKK! How did this happen? It was such a mess, there was no way I could think of sewing in there!!! I'm sure no one else in blogland experiences such chaos... I could have uploaded even more photos of the disaster area, but Blogger was so repulsed, it said "No more!" Piles everywhere, UFOs hung over the door, purchases not put away, remnants of quilt show projects strewn here and yon, books and magazines lolling on work spaces...well, you get the picture. So...today I will work on cleaning, straightening, and organizing. But first, I am getting a haircut, then shopping for bras--both much needed. Maybe in a few days, there will be pix of a decent "Quilt Studio"--fingers crossed.

Sounds familiar, by the time you get through cleaning you are out of the mood to sew! Your studio looks great to me, so organized and bright.

Love the room set up though as you said, if you cannot work in there then YOU can declare it in need of some picking up. All of us can identify with that need to straighten and organize at some point.

I asked a friend the other day "how bad can it be?" when she told me I could not come up to her sewing room. She relented and I found out. In her defense, she makes doll clothes so about half of her stuff was not quilting related. She had about 4 feet of room to work and pivot around in. I would start tossing if it were me but she needs that stuff.

I think your studio looks really organized! I would love to work in a room like that!

I think it looks pretty good. Heck my studio looks like that on a good day! I have too much stuff in too little space, & we just more than doubled the size of our house! I tryed to talk my DH into taking the garage for his workshop, so I could have his room for a dye studio, but no deal. So I have to dye there anyway, when he's not in there!

Very beautiful your sewing.room,a lot of lovely and spacious!! I have a small angle in the garret of the house, but for me it is a "angle of Heaven"

I'm in the process of the third or so overhaul of my craft room, but I have to share it with my husband's office... and three cats. I usually just blame the mess on the cats. I also found that my life got incredibly better when I started using an old dresser for fabric. It's perfect to pull out drawers of colors.

If the studio is completely neat, that's a sure sign that nothing creative is going on in there. I walk a fine line between too cluttered to function and creatively chaotic. Sometimes ya just gotta muck out.
I wish I had the natural light you have in my studio. No matter how many lamps I add, it still feels dark. When my ship comes in, I'm hiring an electrician.
