My First WIP Wednesday!

As a "new kid on the block" of the Quilt Studio ring, this is my first WIP Wednesday! I am not sure if it is intended to be only quilting projects-in-progress but here are two current works I am hammering away at. The snowball blocks have been shown before. These are the first 36. But I have been feverishly cutting strips and squares to get back to this SOON! The other photo is of 64 granny squares that I have been crocheting the last couple of weeks. I know, I know---granny squares? What's next--go-go boots? Bra burning? Love beads? But, nevertheless, these are the two WIPs! I will put some kind of a funky border all around the grannies after I get them all attached to make an afghan. It may be a donation item!!!

Oooh, groovy, man. If you donate, can I be the donee?

Hey, in my book, if it's creative and it's a work in progress: it qualifies. (You are certainly a prodigious crochet-er, my dear!) Lovely!

KC, we create, therefore, I must agree with Jane Ann...it's a WIP (or in my case, a WISP ROFL). Hey, I'm TRYING to crochet too...can you come over and show me how to do a Front Post Double Crochet so I can make this hat out of wool and felt it???? :) Free room and board....*G* BTW, I really like BOTH of your WIPs.

Oooh, I loved my go-go boots *s* Of course when you're 12 everything looks cute, right? Both projects are coming along quite nicely.

Oh you made me laugh so hard...brought back memories...peace marches, flower power and all.
Great job on both your WIP's.

I love the granny squares! My mother made each of my kids a granny square afghan years and years ago, and they are both cherished possessions.

we still have some granny square throws that my late MIL made. They're precious and whatever dye they used back then IT NEVER FADES...NEVER Welcome to the studio.

How clever! -- the turquoise strip with little black/white corners .. very graphic, yet simple. I have a stack of black/white that will work up into something dimilar, with red corners. Thanks for the visual incentive!

Crochet? Fortunately (?) I never did learn that skill - probably a good thing so I won't have those kinds of WIPs like I have my quilt-y WIPS

Granny squares are totally back in. I have seen some VERY expensive scarves lately made up of modified granny squares... And i still LOVE those snowballs!

awesome! you're really on a roll. Show off anything you've been doing on WIP Wednesday - most of us do more than "just" quilting! *wink*

Hey, what is wrong with that? You are having fun with the crocheting, aren't you? I learned to knit first and so do it better than crochet. I hate sewing the stuff together though.

Maybe with the company and holiday hub bub it was easier to crochet than shut yourself up in the studio? Get something done but still visit.

The snowballs are looking good!

Have you ever seen the pattern "Not your grandmothers granny squares" quilt pattern? It's paperpieced...but VERY GROOVY!

Love you work, and adore your blog.

I like those snowball blocks. What a great use for string blocks and something I can do with some of my shorter strings/strips. Thanks for the idea.

As far as I am concerned Granny Squares are always in style. They are so pretty and comforting. Your strippy Snowballs quilt is wonderful.
