Broken Dishes is done--except for the label on the back. I'll wait until the parents actually get the baby from China and have a name to put the label on the back. I did simple straight line quilting with scallops in the border. Then I decided I wanted to add some texture so I tied the centers of each Broken Dishes block with six strands of floss--just for fun!

Oh how pretty these colours are! It's lovely. Those Lori Smith patterns look terrific too!
What a pretty quilt. I never would have thought of doing Broken Dishes for a baby quilt but it's just perfect! I can hardly wait to see your progress on this new project - it's right up my alley!
It is beautiful! I just love how the colors turned out. I know you questioned it, but I think it is perfect!
It's beautiful!
I made a broken dishes quilt to use as a table cover for my patio table. I'll never figure out why in the world making a ton of half square triangles for a quilt that I use to decorate when company comes over was worth all of the effort! Oh well. It's pretty.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I will visit yours often, too!
Love your broken dishes quilt, very spring-y! How do you do your labels, I need to make some and have never done it.
I am sure the parents and baby will all love this quilt, and I can see it in about 10 years, frayed on the edges, never being left behind on vacations, loved.
It's going to be the perfect welcome for the new baby *s*
Your broken dishes turned out so pretty. It makes me want to make one now.
Gosh, how pretty. The colors are so soft and antique-y looking.
It's beautiful. The colours are just right I think. Not too baby, not too bright.
