Well, no parade but here's what 168 HSTs look like on the design wall. As I kept laying them up there, I noticed that I had used some that were much darker than I originally envisioned. This IS a baby quilt, after all!!! However since the family lives in southwest Colorado, it felt like these colors really represented mountains, sunsets, and all the colors of my favorite state (well, next to Missouri!) I'm going to live with it for a few days before I start stitching blocks together. I always need to do that LOL.
As I was playing with these little HSTs, I thought about how much I enjoy this part of the quilting process, the "puzzle-putting-together" part. You could turn these little quilty pieces several different ways and come up with different patterns. Now if the sewing fairy would just come along and stitch them up....

They look very nice. I like the random look but you certainly could get any number of patterns from those HSTs.
Send the fairy my way when you are done with her, o.k.?
They are soooo pretty!! I like them just the way they are! :D
I think that the darker ones add a spark to the whole thing.
I like the interspersed darker blocks - they give movement to the quilt top and they aren't overly bold.
Oh the colors are beautiful! I think it will make an excellent baby quilt!
I agree with the others, I like the dark ones sprinkled in there.
The colors are wonderful, Vera! Good way to spend some time in the TV room doing mindless sewing. The baby may not know the difference but the parents are going love this.
Those are great CO baby colors!
I love the HST's, and I agree, they're just so versatile. What a wonderful way to get thru some of the scraps in the stash!

I like the colors and the layout. A very appropriate quilt for a Colorado baby.
I love the way it looks. I think having a darker fabric for accent in a few places really takes it from the "nice" to the "marvelous" category. It's a perfect quilt for a baby!
I think they look great as they are - a bit of interest with the darker pieces here and there. Just right *s*
This "older" Colorado baby thinks that quilt is perfect and gorgeous!
I think you're exactly right, those colors are perfection for a baby who lives in the southwest, how perfect is that?? I need the sewing fairy after Amy.
hst's so many ways to make them...great visual.
I agree, I like the design wall best.
