BOAF Block 8

Well, the company is all gone, six loads of laundry are almost done, the house is picked up, and the cats are happy again! Love company, but love when things are back to normal LOL! Woke up way too early this morning so I decided to get the machine blanket-stitching done on this block. The wreath probably looks a bit wonky--that's because it is. Dealing with fusible on such a narrow open shape kinda makes the fabric do its own thing!!! Not gonna obsess over it though. As they say, "Done is better than perfect."

love your block - I can also relate to your feeling of having your home back - just took dd to college and now it is just the two of us - I will miss her but it is nice to have things in order

I think its quite fetching...and yes, done is better than perfect. And for all we know that wreath may have had a Christmas party or two before stopping at your house..*VBS* Hugs, Finn

I know just what you mean on the visitors front - love the wreath - who cares if it's not quite perfect - after all didn't the amish say 'only God is perfect'

It looks good, but I feel the same way about blocks I have done which are in some way not 'perfect'.

I think it looks great. Not being perfect shows that it's made by hand and not by a machine, it adds character. btw I would never have known it wasn't meant to look like that if you hadn't said.

Looks fabulous Vera, I had to email them and ask again for the block to be put online. But now I have it! I think yours looks wonderful!

The scrap blocks look fabulous too! Good idea with the precut squares!

I love your block. I like anything applique, it's my favorite kind of hand work. Would love to see the quilt when you're done with it.
