Civil War Diary Blocks Update

Yankee Papers, Church, Games Music & Knitting, and Special Blessings are the four Civil War Diary blocks I completed last night and this morning.    Since I am handpiecing them, they are going extremely s-l-o-w-l-y!!! The prep work takes a long time.   I have six completed and eight more prepped.   Needless to say, I'll be WAY behind the Sew Many Blocks ring!!!!

I liked Judy's idea (over at Quilting With Ragdolls) of keeping photos in a web photo site.   Since I already had an account set up at Google's Picasa Web, I am placing the completed blocks' photos over there.    There is a link in my side bar, right under the Sew Many Blocks link.

I admit... I have been lurking. Reading your blogs and not commenting. I love to look at quilt work and read about it but I don't feel I have anything meaningful to say as I've not made a quilt... just quilted purses.

When I opened your blog today the first thing I thought of was all the knowledge my husband has about the civil war. He talks battles and life-at-that-time so interestingly. I'll have to show him your blog and expand his knowledge. He'd be interested.

I'll let you know what he says.
Hugs,
Joni

Your blocks look great! I joined in today and ordered the CWDQ book. I think I am going to stick with just one of the books for now anywa. Now to wait until my book arrives!

Vera, this is coming along beautifully! I love the fact that you are hand piecing them - this is a perfect project for that. I'd forgotten how much I enjoy hand piecing until I made the pot holders recently for the Fort. Your fabric and color choices are so different - they really sing to me!

Oh your blocks are lovely - I admire your patience for hand-piecing. And I have used two of your fabrics for my blocks - the blue in the first block (with the little coloured "capsules" and the purple and green floral stripe! After spending the last three nights perusing fellow CWD quilters, yours are the first blocks sharing the same fabric - what a delight! :) Looking forward to keeping up with your work, warm regards, Lily
