Hot, Hot, Hot!

Like most of the country KC is in the throes of a heat wave. I am so ready for autumn! Not much sewing this week. DH had surgery for removal of his left thyroid and drainage of his right one. The surgery went well. The final pathology report did show microscopic cancer cells but the surgeon is certain he got all of it. We are hopeful.
I did get this little tomato block done for the Farmer's Market quilt we are doing on Pat Sloan's Yahoo group. Such fun! I love to go to local farmers markets. There is always such yummy fresh produce and lots of nifty little things to see, like homemade crafts and kittens in boxes. I especially like them in the fall (did I mention I am ready for autumn???) with all the gourds and pumpkins and Indian corn and bittersweet bunches. Bring it on!

Now see.... you said you didn't get much sewing done this week, but that block is very impressive to me! I wish I could work as fast as some of you girls do! I love seeing your projects. Hope your husband is doing well.

Thats OK, I haven't gotten much done this summer either - it is just that kind of summer I guess! I hope your DH is doing ok.

Funny, I just followed a link from another blog and saw this block on Pat Sloan's site. It's very cute.

We got into San Diego this afternoon and it's gorgeous.

Glad the news looks good for your husband.

Sorry to hear about your husband's thyroid issues. I had that surgery (total) and treatment for thyroid cancer 7 years ago and I am good as new. Farmer's markets are definately a good thing.

That looks just darling! I haven't gotten either of the first two started yet. I have to finish my Beth's Baskets before I can start something new. Pooh! But the quilting appt. has been made. I really look forward to doing this one. The first two blocks are so cute, I'm sure the rest will match up!

Your Farmer's Market is so cute! I guess I should pop into the PS Yahoo Group every now and then since I am a member to see what's happening! LOL Sorry to hear about your DH's thyroid surgery...wonder how many people in this country have a thyroid disorder? They've been 'working' on mine for about a year now...haven't done surgery but did do radiation. Hope your DH is soon over this hump. :) And OMG, I am soooo with you on Fall, Vera. It's been blazing hot here in East TN, and I am really ready for it to cool down...

Oh I do hope your Hubby is doing well and recovering nicely. Your Farmer's Market piece is darling - you just can't beat a nice fresh tomato . . . from the garden or in fabric *s*

How is you husband doing by now? Recovered, I hope? And still no sign of remaining cancer? I certainly hope so.

I'm cheating - typing with two hands in spite of my sling. I guess I'd better stop doing that!
