A Little Prim

Started pulling out some ornies and such today. Here are ten little wool primitive folk art ornies I made a year or so ago. Gotta figure out what to do with them. Decided I didn't want to put the little tree up that they hung on last year. Hmmm...

This little runner is a Jo Morton pattern and it resides on my old steamer trunk, usually with a candle in an old tin holder. I love how Jo takes old patterns and puts such a primitive folk art spin on them. Not much quilting took place again today. We were involved in a minor car accident last week. A motorcyclist hit the side of our car while we were sitting at a traffic light. No one was hurt and he took full responsibility (good thing) and we had the same insurance company. So as wrecks go, it could have been a lot worse. However, as with any car accident, it becomes a hassle--taking the car in for repairs, getting a rental car, picking the car back up three days later, returning the rental car, yada yada yada. But it did cut into my sewing time!!! Wonder if I can be reimbursed for that. I'll take my compensation in fabric, please.

Glad everyone was o.k. Your ornaments are adorable. I really like things old fashioned for Christmas. My house is like that too-although I'm starting to blend in with the antiques...

Hey girlfriend, love those ornaments AND that runner!! Seems the older I get the more I like the prim/old-fashioned look of things. Now if I could just get my hubby to see things that way. LOL

are those as tiny as they look and also sorry to hear about the accident but thankful that it was just property that was hurt and not the passengers or drivers.

Glad to here that everyone is okay after the accident - I totally agree about the inconvience of things like that, more of an irritation than anything.

Cute ornaments and love the table runner.

Good luck getting fabric to replace your sewing time, but if you figure out a way to make it fly, let me know.

Those ornaments are darling and would look good hung from a swag of pine over a fireplace, or down a bannister. Don't know if you have either of those.

Those ornaments are gorgeous. Couldn't you make a Christmas mobile with them?

Glad that the accident was just a bump and that you are ok and, yes, get them to pay your compensation in fabric ;-)

Sadly I bet you don't get the fabric compensation you deserve - but glad you were all okay, as you say its just the aggravation that's a pain - love the log cabin runner

I'm glad no one was hurt. I love the ornaments. The log cabin runner has my kind of fabric in it.

Glad no one was hurt. How about using the ornaments on a garland hung on a banister/mantle/window type thing? Too cute not to use.

Your ornies are too cute -- I bet you find the perfect spot for them. Glad no one was injured in the accident -- a loss of time is not too painful.

Thank goodness that no one was injured in the accident - I like the idea of fabric compensation. LOL

Your ornies are so cute and love the tablerunner - thanks so much for sharing!

The ornaments and table runner are wonderful! I have that pattern! Hmm, never made it - maybe I need to haul it out again! Sorry about the car accident. How in the world did that happen?

Hi Vera, I guess you got a big fright when the motorbike hit you. I agree about all the inconvenience, but I guess you have to look at the positive side and be very glad noboby was badly injured.
Your little wool ornaments are really cute but could be lost in a dark background. I think the suggestion already made for a mobile would work well if they were near a light coloured wall. I guess I could make my hexagons into something similar, or I had thought they would look good with about 6 hanging down one below the other as a decoration. ( food for thought there )

Oh my goodness, I'm so thankful everyone is OK! What an awful thing to happen - for everyone involved! - except the insurance company of course - they'll probably come out ahead somehow.

The little ornaments are so cute! Did you design them yourself? If not, they are probably taken from a magazine or book I have around here somewhere. Can you let me know? Thanks!
