Laundry Day Ritual

Being the lazy housekeeper that I am, I usually take bedsheets from the dryer and put them right back on the bed. The downside to this plan is that I have tons of sheet sets but only ONE set gets used!!! Rocky's favorite game is to plop on the warm, fresh sheets as I am trying to remake the bed!!! Now who could disturb such an adorable creature? Not as much quilting as I would like has taken place around here. However, some related activities: Monday I drove about 40 miles to a quilt fabric sale being held in a county fair building. I bought several 2-yard cuts of good brand fabrics, mostly for pillowcases to go with existing quilts. Even though I don't rotate sheets that much, I DO like a new set of pillowcases--often! Tuesday I finished a top for Quilts In Force (my guild's community service project) and it is sitting in the basement ready to be pin basted. I want to have it quilted and bound before the December guild meeting as the police request more quilts around the holidays. Two other quilts, Birds On a Rail and Scrapbag Explosion, also have their backings sewn and are in queue for pin basting and quilting. Gotta get motivated on that front!!! This morning is guild meeting and Jeanne Poore will be our speaker. Gotta get cookies ready to take....

Beautiful Kitty--- I call the laundry ritual very practical. Who likes folding sheets?*vbs*

I thought there was a law that states you cannot refold sheets to their original size?!
Such a sleeping beauty. I wouldn't disturb either.

I never heard of using different sheets and putting the ones from the dryer in a cupboard. Is that possible???? Wow! You learn something new every day. Lol.

I do that with the sheets, also, and have often looked at my closet full of sheets, thinking I should give some away... but maybe they could be used for quilt backing?

I started knitting the scarf you featured in your October 28th post, thanks for the inspiration, loved your words - sometimes you just have a need to fondle fiber!

My littl cat boy is the same - he even tries to get under the sheet as you are tucking it in! Which is fine with him until he can't get out!

I tend to keep reusing the same sheets too. And my Charlie-girl loves to "help" me make the bed. :-)

My sister and I have the same laundry habit as you--and our 81-y-o mother recently started doing the same thing. All those years of folding sheets seem to have left her a little chagrined!

How could you possibly disturb that? So warm and cozy *s*

I have the same theory and it works fine until hubby is ready to get into bed and I realise I was so busy quilting, I forgot to put the washing in the drier-this is when the other set come from the cupboard!

I do the same thing unless I am also changing the quilt on the bed. One set goes better with that quilt and another with another, etc. Of course, if Pippi is around I go through the same problem with trying to get the bed made--warm laundry, yippee! Or I'll get the bottom sheet on just to have to practically make the bed with her on it, LOL.
