Spent a coupla days knitting a scarf to wear with denim jackets. Needed to fondle fiber but still couldn't get that groove going in the sewing room. I love to knit mindless things! Cast on 24 stitches onto size 11 needles, hold a strand of cotton yarn together with a strand of eyelash yarn and just knit, knit, knit!!! So soothing and relaxing! Yesterday, I am happy to report, I did finally get back to quilting! I put the binding on Lee's Surrender--it
is DONE DONE! Yay!
great finish on the quilt-and I love knitting scarves too!
ReplyDeleteLove how warm and manly the plaid makes your quilt look.
ReplyDeleteScarves...haven't made any...but lucky enough to have been the receiver of a few, time to be wearing them!
Cute, cute scarf! I don't know how to knit but it looks like fun! As if I needed another hobby or interest. LOL That quilt is gorgeous!
ReplyDeletewonderful scarf -- and sometimes one just needs mindless fiber therapy....
ReplyDeleteScarves are fun. Don't need them here, so I sometimes knit through a skein of yarn -- then wind it right back into a ball again *s*
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks just lovely, the colours are just perfect. Well done! I love to knit scarves too, they're so simple and fun. I'm knitting one right now for Cam.

What a gorgeous quilt! It looks so warm and cosy. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea - when you have the need to fondle fiber! Your scarf is so pretty and perfect to wear with your denim jacket. Very chic.
ReplyDeleteLee's Surrender is beautiful and DONE. How exciting! :-)
Your scarf and your quilt are just lovely!!!!! :O).. sometimes that sewing groove is hard to find isn't it! :O)
ReplyDeleteVera, the quilt looks just great. Love the colors!
ReplyDeleteSeems like everyone and her sister are knitting these days. Half my quilt group brings knitting on Tuesday nights instead of quilting. There are so many fun yarns available now!
Love the scarf and the quilt. Thnaks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteScarf is very nice but I love the quilt-such an interesting take on a sampler.Cheers
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing the quilt!
ReplyDeleteI admire your scarf, they are just lovely colours to go with denim. Hope it doesn't tickle. I have a lovely one I was given but it makes me itchy so I seldom wear it. Bet you checked that out before you started eh.
That scarf looks marvelous - bet it looks gorgeous on. And hurray for finishing the quilt - looks great.
ReplyDeleteThat may be the most lovely sampler quilt I ever saw (including those in the Quilt magazines). Wow...Now I'm going to have to add that to my list of things to make. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI love sampler quilts! And your plaids are just fun. Congrats on a finish!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could knit. I've made several attempts but I just get too uptight and the stitches get smaller and smaller until I'm banging the needles on the table to get them through the next stitch! It ends up looking like a triangle!

I have been wanting to do a little knitting, not a huge project, thanks for the inspiration! And the instructions!
ReplyDeleteMindless fiber therapy, sounds like a prescription, may be just what the doctor ordered. I have not seen eyelash yarn, will have to keep an eye out, it certainly makes a great looking scarf!
Of course the quilt is spectacular! What a lot of work went into this, and it turned out great.
Hope you are keeping warm there in KC!
I love the quilt - the plaid in the block backgrounds looks great
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful quilt and the scarf is perfect for the denim jacket
ReplyDeleteway to multi-craft!

With my upcoming move I find myself knitting a lot - I think it helps me to de-stress. I've done various hats and scarves and 3 doggie sweaters with more planned which will help with all the time I won't be able to quilt in the next couple months.
ReplyDeletecute scarf- glad to hear it fulfilled a fiber need!
ReplyDeleteI really love Lee's Surender! That is a wonderful quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! Nice job on the scarf too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt. I know it feels so good to get something done done.
ReplyDeleteI love to knit too. When I need something mindless I just pull out some cotton yarn and start making dishcloths. When the mood passes I just put it away for another time. A couple of years ago the mood lasted a while and I ended up with 36 dishclothes. I have been including them in packages since then. I think I still have about 5 left. :o)
What a gorgeous, rich, masculine looking quilt! Those plaids are really nice.
ReplyDeleteNice scarf - my little girl just asked this afternoon if I'm going to knit her a new scarf to go with her new snowsuit. Apparently the blue scarf from last year doesn't quite match with the purple snowsuit for this year - LOL.
I like to knit too - sometimes I need a portable project! And - graet job on finishing the binding - I have a few bindings that I need to work on this month..
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Evelyn
