Birds of a Feather

Lookee, lookee! The book is out! I went to my LQS this morning to pick up my fabric pack for Block10 and there on the counter sat this beauty! I like how it is set together and can't wait to get all my blocks done so I can arrange them on the wall. I am doing Barb's setting so it looks like more applique for the border is in my future. Unless, of course, I can think of a different-but-equally-clever way to do the border. There are lots of extra projects in this book that are adorable. Just need to get busy now...

  1. Wait a second--is that the same book and quilt that I may have seen on Judy of ragdoll quilting fame? Or something else I have seen online in my travels?? Seems familiar!

  3. what a great pattern! More applique than I'd ever do, but I can still enjoy the sweetness of the eye candy

  4. That really is a lovely design - I've only just spotted that those drunkards path blocks make up flying birds silhouettes up top left - some really lovely bits and pieces in there

  7. I've been wanting that pattern ever since I saw the first block, one of the girls from my group is doing it as a BOM in dark colors, it's beautiful either way. Nancy from MT

  8. Looks like a great book. Isn't it wonderful when you go for one thing and find something else that has to come home, too? =)

  10. Does the book have basic needle-turn applique instructions to get going?

  11. Oh so glad that you got your book too!! I pre-ordered from the Kansas City paper site and was so happy to see it arrive. I'm doing Alma's finish with a twist. No applique for the borders, but I am appliquing down the border with a sawtooth design and then a floral on the wide borders. I'm waiting for block 10 to come out on the site!!
